Parklea Roof Repairs and Gutter Replacement

An old name on newer streets

Parklea dates back as a name to the early 1900s and is believed to have been given by subdividers. The residential suburb as it stands today is far more recent, sitting on the eastern side of the council area near the Old Windsor Road corridor, with a mix of tile and metal roofs across housing from the 1990s onward.

Because the stock spans a couple of decades, the first job is always to work out which problem you actually have.

Tile roofs here

Thirty years or so in, so generally sound. We look at ridge pointing, cracked tiles from foot traffic, valley condition and whether the surface coating is fading or genuinely failing. Often the right answer is targeted maintenance now and a full restoration in a few years, which is a cheaper sequence than doing everything at once.

Metal roofs here

Faults cluster at the interruptions. Perished seals at solar mounts and flues, flashings without enough cover, low-pitch patio roofs backing up at the laps, and screw washers that have gone hard with UV. All repairable — see metal and Colorbond roofing.

Gutters on both

The newer homes have big roof planes feeding relatively few downpipes, so overflow in a heavy downpour is common and is not always a blockage. We check fall, capacity and the stormwater connection, not just whether the gutter is clean. See gutter repair and replacement.
