Hebersham Roof Restoration and Repairs

A village planned in 1829 that never happened

Hebersham is named after Bishop Heber of Calcutta. A village was planned under that name back in 1829 and never built — the suburb that exists today came much later, as part of the estate housing laid out around Mount Druitt from the mid-1960s.

What is on the ground now is consistent single-storey housing with concrete tile roofs approaching sixty years of service, in a suburb where most of those roofs have had the same amount of weather.

The gutter is often the first thing to fail

People expect the tiles to be the problem. Frequently the gutters go first, because they hold debris and debris holds water. The sequence is predictable:

• Litter packs the gutter and the valleys
• The run loses its fall and holds standing water
• Rust starts at the back edge, out of sight behind the fascia
• Water overflows into the eaves rather than down the downpipe
• The eaves lining stains, the fascia timber softens, and the ceiling follows

By the time it shows inside, the fascia usually needs attention too. That is all covered under gutter repair and replacement.

And then the roof above it

On the tiles themselves, the usual findings are cracked ridge pointing, porous surfaces and a few broken tiles. If the tiles are still sound, a restoration resets the roof for years. If they are not, we will tell you plainly and quote a replacement instead — on a house of this age it is often the better long-term call.

Nearby we also work in Mount Druitt, Blackett and Emerton. All our suburbs.
